Assistant Professor Tenure Track– Strategic Management
The department of Management & Marketing of the Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth seeks an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Strategic Management to conduct innovative research within this field that is also aligned with the college mission and the department’s research priorities. The appointee will also teach three sections per semester of undergraduate or graduate courses, pursue pedagogical innovation, and engage in university or community service activities. The appointment will be effective September 1, 2026.
General Summary of Position. The Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Strategic Management is expected to publish research in well-regarded scholarly journals in business strategy. Candidates working or interested in one of the following areas will be given priority: entrepreneurship, small and medium businesses, international business, or innovation management. The successful applicant should also be able to teach managerial and organizational courses at the undergraduate and MBA levels in different modalities, i.e. in-person, online and blended.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Management or a related field completed by spring 2026 (ABD candidates will be considered)
- Teaching experience in strategic management at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels
- A significant or a promising program of research and scholarship in strategic management/business strategy
- Student-oriented, highly motivated to help students excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching strategic management at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
- Interested in, or academic work in entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprise, international business, innovation management.
SALARY: $120,000-$140,000
