Job Summary
Maintain Athletic Department indoor and outdoor facilities. Inspect and repair Athletic Department facilities including the facilities related equipment and playing surfaces.
Essential Functions
- Maintain Athletic Department indoor and outdoor facilities which includes but is not limited to - 6 courts, 3 artificial fields, 3 Varsity grass fields, and 19 grass practice fields (including Campus Recreation fields)
- Primary duties will be mowing and lining of grass and artificial turf athletic fields per NCAA rules for games and practices and painting of logos as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations, and Events.
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and general care of Athletic facilities. This includes but is not limited to
- general turf management such as mowing of practice fields and playing surfaces, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control
- game and practice setup and breakdown such as lining fields, setting up batting cages and nets, trash and snow removal
- general facility maintenance such as painting logos
- special facility maintenance projects such as office renovations
- Maintain, repair, and general care of Athletic Department equipment and materials required to perform assigned duties.
- Operate equipment and tools needed to perform assigned repair and maintenance of athletic facilities and grounds.
- Assist in the requisitioning of materials and equipment required in the care and maintenance of Athletic Department facilities by providing lists of needed supplies, buying supplies from local vendors and placing orders online.
- Serve as an Athletic Department representative in regard to facility maintenance and game operations during home varsity contests as assigned.
- Serve as a University liaison with outside community groups and on-campus groups when occupying Athletic Department facilities.
- Strictly adhere to NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations.
- Attend conventions, conferences, meetings and training sessions as required.
Other Functions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Minimum of one (1) year of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in maintenance and repair required.
- Must have a valid Class D Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Ability to work a diversified schedule including nights and weekends with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to follow oral and written communications.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
- Physical stamina and endurance.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- 2B Hoister's license preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Pulling/pushing, repetitive movement, standing, bending, driving, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 9AM – 3PM.
- This is a temporary, non-benefited position.
